James Tearne

James is a Bedfordshire based composer who specialises in film score composition and production music. He can find inspiration for new works in almost all film scores, from orchestral blockbusters to intimate electro-acoustic dramas. Scores from Doctor Who and early 2000's Nintendo games were the early sparks that made James want to pursue a life of music composition. His early work comprised of writing tracks for fan-made Pokémon games before he started to lean towards Film and TV composition.

In order to progress his knowledge around the subject, he attained a place at Leeds Conservatoire (formally Leeds College of Music) on their BA Film Music course. Having studied for three years, and achieving a first class degree, he worked on multiple independent short film projects and utilised clips from existing TV shows to develop his composition skills.

James currently composes for film and regularly produces library music at Engrave Production Music.
